Zune baby Zune.
"With the Zune, students will be free to share music, videos and photos right there in class. They'll be able to pass notes to one another. The Zune isn't just a solitary music player. Think of it as a portable, wireless, hardware version of MySpace." - From e-commerce news.

That's pretty cool. But also, um... problematic. Like there aren't fifty thousand privacy/safety/legal issues with MySpace? Like sharing notes in class is a good thing?

The "widescreen" viewing capability is cool, but I watch videos and movies on my computer (or TV), not on my MP3 player. I guess I really need to get into the whole "it's a mult-media player," thing. Except I refuse to pay for that stuff, so I'd mostly only be into free videocasts anyway.

Honestly, if Apple comes up with a competitive iPod (wireless enabled, wider screen, customizable) I certainly wouldn't switch. I like iTunes, I like the iPod, and I'd rather give money to Apple. But in the meantime, I'd seriously consider the Zune for when my current iPod dies (which hopefully won't be for awhile anyway).

Thunder Snow!
First Flash
Sully looks across the table at the sushi place and asks: "Is that lightning?"

"No," I immediately respond whilst turning my head to peer out the large window at the blustery snow, "I'm pretty sure there's no lightning during the winter. Must be a tow truck or something."

Second Flash
"No, seriously, I think that's lightning."

"Sully, it's winter."

"I know, Sam, I think you need summer storms with the two fronts meeting for that. I agree with you, but I still think it's lightning."

[Time Passes. The crew walks outside to go to the gym. The visibility is just about zero; we can't see the coffee shop across the street, and by the time we get to Huntington we realize that there's a line of cars trying to figure out what the Hell to do. It seems as thoguh about two inches of snow must've dropped in 10 minutes. The wind is strong and we're all coated in snow on one side by the time we figure out how to weave in and out of the slip-sliding cars to make it to the other side of Huntington.]

Fifth Flash, followed by an audible crack of thunder
"WHOA, I THINK THAT'S LIGHTNING!"
