Californiaaaaaaaaa (this is the OC theme song, as it translates from brain to keyboard).
Today I was walking around Safeway (which is a grocery store that we don't have back east), and a public service announcement came on about something or other... kids or energy or keeping the gays from ruining society, one of those... and it was read by Maria Shriver, and I thought to myself, "Huh, she's the First Lady of California," and then I giggled uncontrollably for a minute or two before moving into the yogurt section of the store (conveniently across from the refrigerated beer section) and shaking my head at the reality of living in California in 2005.

In related news, the Governor's home page (not to be confused with the unofficial Terminator fan page) lists all of his accomplishments over the last year. Well, not all of them. A few may be conspicuously absent. Like certain vetoes. But! Don't forget the good things! He's protecting elders (hey, they vote) because now you have to tell someone when they're duped over the phone! And keeping stem cell stuff going (in honor of the previously wtf-elected California governor Regan) because stem cells are good and they can actually save people! And protecting John Connor from the evil TX-99999999! Re-elect Schwarzenegger!*

I seriously don't know if I could ever register to vote in this state.

*Actually, I think protecting elders from scams is important. The same with stem cell research and protecting John Connor from the evil cyborgs of the future. I just think it's funny how it only talks about the stuff that it's really hard to argue with. You know, the usual political backslapping. I thought I would highlight the absurdity with exclamation points. Please don't abuse your elders. And for the love of god, people, leave John Connor alone!
