Retroactive fangirling.
Sophie Aldred is really, really, ridiculously cute.

I finished Ace: The Inside Story of the End of an Era. Well, almost. I haven't read about "Dimensions in Time" yet. The book was worth it just for the pictures. Timewyrm: Genesis arrived on Saturday, but my sister's lending me Seabiscuit and I bought You Suck: A Love Story cheap at BJ's, so I'll probably move through it slowly. That gives me more time to find the next few books. Hopefully in ways that don't cost $25 each (most go for under $10, but a few are apparently rare or something).

In completely and totally unrelated news, I've dropped my phone for the first time. Not bad; I made it about two weeks. Just sratched the edge a bit, mild cosmetic damage. Not like the giant scratch I put down the center of the screen on my last phone, within a month of getting it. Don't worry. I won't be bringing my phone near honey for a loooong time.

Weak willed.
I decided on a present-to-myself for taking the bar again. Ace: The Inside Story of the End of an Era. It cost $12.50, with shipping, and one of the authors is the woman who played Ace, and it's filled with pictures and anecdotes and, besides, I'm a little in love with Ace now. I feel bad that I'm cheating on Rose with my love of a new companion, but I can't help myself. Ace is just really really awesome, and if I'd watched the show back in the 80s when it aired (curse you, United States television) I would've had such a little girl crush on her.

Now I have a big girl crush on her.

[ This doesn't come out of nowhere. Though I haven't written about it, I've been slowly working through the Seventh Doctor serials during study breaks, and am nearly done. Besides the fact that Ace kicks ass, faces her fears without screaming, has a sharp sense of humor, and is wicked smaht, she's got a Watchmen pin on her jacket. That tipped the scales right there. Love.]
